REPORTS TO: Director of Revenue Management

 

DEPARTMENT: Revenue Management

POSITION SUMMARY: The Revenue Analyst is integral to the success of the Hotel's Revenue Management team. The Revenue Analyst supports the hotel’s revenue maximization by preparing revenue reports that will assist the Director of Revenue Management in implementing the Hotel's yield strategies. In addition, the Revenue Analyst will be required to review and analyze reports such as Market Vision, STAR, Hotel Intelligence and other measurement tools and present revenue opportunities for the hotel. 


RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Support the hotel’s revenue maximization by assisting with daily IPS functions to include balancing inventories.
  • Assist with loading rate schedules and configuring packages.
  • Run and develop a variety of crystal reports, sales strategy documents and 14-day forecast.
  • Maintain yield management system configuration and monitor system availability.
  • Maintain forecasting tools and month end revenue management procedures.
  • Comply by the various checklists that are used in this role. Market share analysis as needed.
  • Serve as backup/support to on property Revenue Director.
  • Run performance update reports and daily transaction summaries
  • Support the hotels’ yield efforts via analysis of booking pace and trends by segment and distribution channel.
  • Provide analytical research documents and reports in supporting your hotel’s strategic ideation process
  • Partner with the sales team, providing analysis, training and data collection for Sales as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze all standard reports, including market intelligence reports including but not limited to: Rubicon, Hotel Intelligence, STAR, etc. Accurately produces all daily, weekly, and monthly reports on a timely basis.
  • Prepare weekly yield meeting reports and draft follow up meeting minutes to ensure follow through.
  • Work with Revenue Director to propose, design, sell, develop, implement, maintain, measure and manage solutions including process methodology, systems, and strategies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (to do this kind of work, you must possess/be able to):

  • Associates Degree or higher preferred.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Relevant experience in Revenue Management. Hotel operations experience a plus.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • General knowledge of basic supply and demand for market.

  • Analytical approach to problem solving and ability to “think outside the box”.

  • Ability to analyze financial statements and market data.

  • Detail oriented and hands-on. Team player. Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.

  • Demonstrate self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.

  • Must possess computer skills including but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Galaxy or Fidelio, IPS, PRSNet, TLPe, TLGO, SAP and Delph.

  • A comprehensive understanding of the local hotel market.

  • Ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports.

  • Ability to use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Prior experience required. Associates Degree or higher preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

 

MATH and LOGICAL SKILLS: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to:  Deal with system of real numbers; algebraic solution of equations and probability and statistical inference.  Apply fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion. Ability to determine time, place and sequence of operations or action to be taken on the basis of analysis of data; executing determination and/or reporting on events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly be required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee is required to use body members, hand tools, and/or special devices to work, move, or carry objects or materials.
