Scope of Position

The Bartender reports to the Restaurant Management Team, and is responsible to ensure guests' satisfaction by mixing and serving cocktails and other beverages for guests and filling server’s orders. The Bartender will also serve food at the guest’s request, both at the bar and at the lounge tables, when applicable.

The bartender will work as part of the service team, dedicated to providing guests with the most impeccable, accurate, and courteous service possible and exceeding guest expectations by paying attention to guests' needs at all times. In addition to being part of the entire INNSIDE BRASSERIE team dedicated to being the penultimate example of greatness in products and services on the property, the bartender is responsible for accurate cash handling, inventory and portion control in order to help INNSIDE BRASSERIE exceed revenue and sales goals.

 


 

Responsibilities

  • Greet each guest within 2 minutes (ideally, 1 minute) after seating, in a sincerely warm, friendly manner using the guest name, if known
  • Demonstrate an attitude of friendly hospitality in every aspect of service.
  • Demonstrate Corsair standards, exceeding Hotel Group Standards in all interactions
  • Set up Lounge bar according to established procedures
  • Remain observant and responsive to each guest’s inquiries throughout the bar-lounge area
  • Follows Hotel’s telephone etiquette standards, when phone calls are answered
  • Take guests' orders promptly according to standards
  • Prepare specialty cocktails and standard cocktails maintaining a high standard of consistency and quality
  • Know the ingredients, preparation, and proper presentation of all food and beverage menus items and specials
  • Make appropriate suggestion of up-selling food and beverages.
  • Time food and beverage orders correctly to ensure they are served in a timely manner
  • Ensure bar maintenance and inventories are up to INNSIDE BRASSERIE Standards during the entire dining experience.
  • Know the layout of the bar, lounge and restaurant (Seat and table numbers)
  • Ensure that station is maintained in a clean, neat, orderly fashion
  • Know shifts and station assignments
  • Key in (pre-checks) order on the Micros terminal promptly and accurately
  • Perform all assigned side works regularly, promptly, and correctly
  • Comply fully and consistently with all hotel and restaurant conditions of employment and standards of uniform, grooming, personal hygiene and safety
  • Properly complete all closing paperwork
  • Complete beverage, food and supplies requisition
  • Complete Bar closing duties per "Side Work Responsibilities”
  • Attend and report on time for all meetings and training sessions scheduled by management
  • Other duties as required by the Management team for the successful operation of the restaurant

    • Brand products, such as books, merchandise, etc.
    • Methods and means of referring guests to other brand outlets
    • Expertise in brand policies regarding serving VIP guests
  • Knowledge of and adherence to brand policies regarding press, rumors, and sharing of confidential and/or sensitive information

Requirements

  • Two years' experience mixing and serving beverages in a luxury resort or high-volume restaurant
  • Fine dining experience preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Good salesmanship
  • Extremely outgoing personality
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment with a sense of alertness
  • Must be reliable and flexible in terms of working hours
  • Understands and consistently implements standards/procedures and sequence of service
  • Able to stand and walk for an 8-hour shift and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Know the characteristics of wines and the knowledge of popular cocktails
  • Attention to detail and strong sense of urgency

Additional

  • Skills and ability to: Ability to communicate in the English language (Second language is a plus); must be a team player. Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/ machinery, ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends; able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds. Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
